About The Brown Moon Project

When was the organization founded?

The Brown Moon Project is the brainchild of Diamondnia Mack. After 13 months of thoughtful development, incorporating years of environmental and economic research, the Brown Moon Project was officially founded in 2023 in Washington, D.C. More information about our team can be found here.

What is your mission?

The Brown Moon Project is a research, advocacy, and philanthropic initiative dedicated to examining the catastrophic impact climate change has on Black and brown women around the world. We are particularly interested in examining these impacts throughout the Global South and within the United States. By examining and presenting the global socio-political, economic and environmental policies and habits that have led us here and will surely lead us into a viciously uncertain ecological future, we aim to further unmask the unique cataclysms Black and brown women face as we collectively stare down the barrel of the impending climate crisis. The Brown Moon Project joins the cacophony of climate scientists, policy practitioners, researchers and activists in demanding immediate action and accountability from our world leaders, immediate relief delivered to our most vulnerable communities, and immediate intelligent action from ourselves. More on our mission can be found here.
